Not on a low-carb diet? No worries, this Blue Cheese Shallot Dip is enjoyed by everyone! How can you go wrong with sour cream, fresh dill, blue cheese, and sautéed shallots? You can’t, and you won’t. In 15 minutes or less, you’ll have yourself the perfect dip with that punch of flavor that makes it a party standout!
How to make Low Carb Blue Cheese Shallot Dip
Start by mincing 1/2 cup of shallots.
Saute the shallots over medium heat with a tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt. After about 5 minutes, add 2 teaspoons minced garlic and stir for 1 additional minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool on a plate lined with paper towels.
Believe it or not, sautéing the shallots is the hardest part. All that’s left is to mix the remaining ingredients together.
In a medium bowl, stir together the sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and white pepper. You can use black pepper if you don’t mind seeing the specks in the dip.
My sweet mother recently bought me these two sets of vintage-inspired bowls that I now use all the time for mixing (medium sized bowl picture in photo). They have airtight lids and are perfect for storing this dip!
Now simply fold in the blue cheese. I used pre-crumbled blue cheese, but grab your favorite gourmet blue cheese and crumble it yourself. It will be even more delicious!
